About the Artist....

Grace Alley is the maker behind Nomadic Ceramic. She grew up in Golden, Colorado and pursued a degree in Anthropology from Colorado State University. 

 

Grace's interest in studying past societies and human cultures as well as traveling abroad, ultimately informed her passion for creating pottery and ceramics. 

​

Her work is heavily influenced by an interest in foreign cultures both current and prehistoric. It is her greatest honor to use a material and technique that is similar to what humans used tens of thousands of years ago.

 

Grace believes clay working connects our present to our past and reveals to us the spirit behind material expression. Working with clay is not only a meditative expression, but also an avenue for tapping into the intangible.
